Sample Activity 4.1

Title

Study timetable

Objective

To enable the students to:

  • List all their subjects
  • Prioritise what subjects they need to study
  • Allot a time slot for different topics for study
  • Create an individualised study timetable

Description

Students identify the subjects they most need to study and together allot a time slot per day for a five day timetable for different areas of study. They should be encouraged to specify the type of study i.e. reading, practising exam questions, homework etc.

Study mechanisms

Objective

To enable the students to:

  • Practise different study techniques

Description

Students are given a page of text. They are then encouraged to experiment with different forms of study mechanisms (e.g. highlighting key words, creating mind maps, composing mnemonics etc)
