Sample Activity 1.1

Title

Have fun / Time out

Objective

To enable students to:

  • Spend time together engaging in a game / fun activity
  • Refine skills to explain how to conduct the activity
  • Develop a friendship

Description

The students select a game or fun activity to play together (e.g basketball, chess, painting etc.) Afterwards, they will reflect on the experience.

Sample Activity 1.2

Title

Feelings and emotions

Objective

To enable students to:

  • Name feelings and emotions
  • Describe behaviours and lead to and from these feelings and emotions
  • Engage in role play to demonstrate feelings and emotions
  • Match appropriate behaviours to feelings and emotions

Description

The students are given short descriptions of scenarios (story cards) that demonstrate feelings and emotions. Using role play they empathise with these feelings and give examples of what may lead to experiencing such emotions. Together they identify appropriate behaviours that follow from these feelings (i.e. taking a break if tired, celebrating if proud, talking to someone if anxious, asking for help if ill etc.)
